7 Conditioned Mental Barriers to Freedom

Are you free? I mean, really free, on the inside?

We all desire it, but it comes at a cost. The cost of our old self, the conditioned version of us that was moulded without our awareness from our earliest days as part of the human collective.

In the pursuit of freedom and sovereignty, we often encounter barriers that are deeply ingrained in our subconscious mind. These blocks hold us back from our potential by looping us in fear over the unknown. So in order to protect ourselves from the potential danger of uncharted potential that could expose or expand us, we repeat the past – as it is the only thing we know for sure… it is the only thing that feels “safe”.

These conditioned mental barriers, shaped by societal norms, cultural expectations, and personal conditioning, hinder our ability to embrace true autonomy and self-determination as we move through our life.

When we are oriented to the “human herd” (through school, religion, political ideologies, consensus history, Hollywood) that promotes status quo conformity and unquestioning acceptance of the mainstream narrative, we can feel threatened in our desire for freedom… and uncertain if we are on the right path, as we seek to align more with our own intuition and desires.

Identifying and understanding these barriers is the first step toward breaking free from their constraints.

7 Mental Barriers that Limit Our Freedom

Let’s explore seven common conditioned mental barriers that impede our journey towards true sovereignty:

  1. Fear of Uncertainty: The fear of the unknown and uncertainty about the future can paralyze us, leading to a preference for the safety and familiarity of the status quo. This fear often prevents us from taking risks and stepping outside our comfort zones, limiting our potential for growth and exploration. This causes us to loop the energy, emotions and experiences of our past, sabotaging our future opportunity.
  2. Dependency on Authority: From a young age, we are conditioned to rely on eternal authority figures—whether parents, teachers, or government institutions—to make decisions on our behalf. This dependency breeds a sense of powerlessness and resignation, inhibiting our ability to trust in our own judgment and exercise independent thinking. Most humans have all but lost their sense of inner navigation (intuition and conscience) that would effortlessly lead them into the dynamic life of their dreams.
  3. Social Conformity: Society imposes acceptable patterns and expectations upon us, dictating how we should think, behave, and live our lives. The pressure to conform to these societal standards can be overwhelming, leading us to prioritize fitting in over expressing our true selves and pursuing our passions.
  4. Cultural Conditioning: Cultural beliefs, consensus historical narratives, and traditions shape our worldview and influence our perceptions of freedom and sovereignty. Cultural conditioning can perpetuate outdated ideologies and limit our ability to question the status quo, hindering progress and innovation.
  5. Psychological Conditioning: Our minds are constantly bombarded with messages from the media, advertising, and social institutions that intentionally shape our beliefs and behaviors to agendas that benefit the social control systems. Psychological conditioning can create unconscious biases and limiting beliefs that undermine our sense of agency and autonomy, while making us servile to agendas that don’t have our best interests at heart.
  6. Emotional Conditioning: Past traumas, societal pressures, and interpersonal relationships can shape our emotional responses and patterns of behavior. Emotional conditioning can manifest as fear, guilt, shame, or self-doubt, inhibiting our ability to assert ourselves and pursue our goals with confidence. Breaking free from any negative or limiting family-origins conditioning is a challenging process.
  7. Lack of Self-Trust: Perhaps the most significant barrier to freedom and sovereignty is the lack of trust in ourselves and our innate abilities. Years of conditioning and external validation can erode our self-confidence and inner wisdom, leading us to doubt our capacity to make empowered choices and forge our own paths.

Breaking free from these conditioned mental barriers requires introspection, courage, and a willingness to challenge deeply ingrained beliefs and patterns of behavior.
